This very special evening marks the second performance as a quartet for these longtime collaborators and stalwarts of the Portland music scene: Noah Bernstein (alto saxophone) Andrew Jones (bass), Matt Mayhall (drums) and Mike Gamble (guitar). These 4 have worked with artists as varied as Jeff Parker, Tuneyards, Earth and Julia Holter, among an extensive list of esteemed musicians in New York, the Bay area, Los Angeles and throughout the Pacific Northwest. This project draws upon those disparate musical worlds and distills them into something that is deeply steeped in tradition while also leaning forward into 'Some Imagined Future Time,' blending contemporary groove and electronically augmented atmosphere with the expressive language and radical adventurousness pioneered by the geniuses of Jazz.
